if we cant celebrate birthdays, then why do we celebrate our beloved prophet muhammad s.a.w?
If you do not consider celebrating birthdays as a religious obligation then there is no harm in celebrating birthdays.
Celebrating the birthday of the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihe Wa Sallam while considering it a religious obligation is forbidden because it will be considered Bid'ah. The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihe Wa Sallam never celebrated his birthday because it was never a religious obligation. If someone celebrates it without considering it a religious obligation then there is no harm.
And Allah knows best.
