Dear honourable Mufti Sahib.
I have a question of the Pakistani and Sikh/hindu wedding traditions.
As the two countries were one before their independence. The Pakistanis have adopted wedding traditions same as the Indians. For example on the wedding day the bride throwing rice over her head just before she leaves her parents house, the bride and groom play a game where they have to dig out the ring from a milk bowl etc and other things.
As these traditions are not from Islam and the Hindus/Sikhs also do these. Does Muslims/Pakistanis doing such traditions on their wedding days result in kufr?
These cultural practices are certainly wrong and should be avoided by Muslims but as the same time I do not see this as an act of Kufr. We need to understand the beauty and importance of our religion and try to adopt its practices to the best of our ability.
And Allah knows best.
